Which performance car would you buy??
When most people think about performance vehicles an image of a high dollar sports car like a Lamborghini or Ferrari generally pops into their heads. For most of us here on planet Earth a car like that will always be out of reach but that doesn’t mean we have to spend our lives in the slow lane. There are plenty of performance vehicles on the market today that don’t require you to spend an arm and a leg on.
The average car buyer in the Untied States spends around $35,000 dollars on a new car these days. So with that fact in our head we sat down and crunched the numbers and came up with the ten best modern performance cars under $40,000 dollars. It’s a list that focuses on power figures, options, and obviously cost. There were so many cars to choose from but these ten stood out from the crowd when the numbers came in.
10. Subaru WRX STI:
Who wouldn’t love to get behind the wheel of an all wheel drive turbocharged beast like the Subaru WRX? The standard WRX is good enough for commuters with its 2.0 liter engine but those who like to enjoy life should opt for the STI and its 305 horsepower 2.5 liter boxer. The WRX STI is a potent weapon in just about any situation thanks to a 0 to 60 time of 4.8 seconds and a price tag of around $36,000 dollars.
9. Dodge Challenger:
The Dodge Challenger is a fantastic performance car especially when it is equipped with the Scat Pack Shaker package. Drivers are given a 6.4 liter Hemi engine that slams out 485 horsepower with ease. This Challenger boats the quickest 0 to 60 time on our list at 4.5 seconds but it’s also the most expensive with a price tag of $39,500.
